Review Wall-E

Wall-E is a animated movie  produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released in 2008. This This film was directed by Andrew Stanton. This movie was received so many award including  Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film and  Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Set in the year 2805, where earth was abandoned by human for 700 years. It is because earth was covered by trash and the air was getting toxic. That situation occurred because of the continuous consumerism of human being provided by the megacorporation Buy-n-Large (BnL) which seems to be responsible for almost all the Pixar Movies (read The Pixar Theory and kaskus)

In 2105, BnL evacuates Earth's population to the executive starship named “Axiom” that provides each human purposes, and equipped with robots that goes automatically to serve everything  human needs. They left WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) trash compactor robots to clean the planet. This cleaning operation was failed and BnL shuts down the WALL-E robots and remains only one unit WALL-E. He was still working to clean the earth from the trash. Apart from his tedious duties, Wall-E often collect interesting items that he found from the pile of garbage until one day he found a plant.

Later, a spaceship lands and deploys EVE (short for extraterrestrial vegetation evaluator), an advanced robot probe sent from the BnL starliner Axiom to search for vegetation on Earth and to prove that the earth still has living environtment. Then Wall-E meets and fall in love with her. Both of them become a key the return of humans to the earth.

The technology development cause the humans to live in a completely automated.  it can become negative impact of technology. The excessive use of technology can make human’s life become technology-dependent. In this movie, we can see everytime they want something, the robots will provide their needs.  This condition makes people become lazy even people in this movie cannot barely stand on their own feet .

Technology is also changing the way people interact with other people. Due to that they don’t know how to interact with others when they meet them in-person or what gesture they should carry. Technology makes people become anti-social.

In this movie we can see, the human do not care about their environtment. They made condition of earth contaminated by the non-recyclable garbage, including the electronics.

Apparently The more advanced technology becomes, the more it seems to have control over our lives.
